Thermoplay S.p.A. was launched in 1995, continuing the development started in 1974 in hot channel injection systems for moulding plastics.

Manufacturing output doubled in 2008 with the opening of a new factory alongside the previous one. Our premises now cover an area of 120,000 square feet, and there are 160 members of staff and 80 engineers and executives in forty-four countries around the world. To extend our business network and provide better engineering advice, we have opened branches in Great Britain, Germany, France, Portugal, Brazil, China, and India.

In August 2015, Thermoplay S.p.A. and its subsidiaries were acquired by Barnes Group Inc., an international industrial and aerospace manufacturer and service provider.

At Thermoplay we design and build hot channel injection systems for moulding plastic items. Among our range of products and services, we have more than 400 different types of injectors, standard and special plate systems, temperature control units, flow-rate analysis units, customised projects, bi-injection, multi materials, and sequential injection, with either pneumatic or hydraulic valves.

Our customers are mostly companies who design and build moulds and dies or moulding companies, and who are therefore directly involved in manufacturing plastic items.

Our field of application covers many different needs in the manufacture of hot-channel moulds in the following sectors: cars, cosmetics, packaging, electronics, medicine, electro-technical, white goods, toys & games, IT, micro-mechanical, hobbies, household items, and new emerging markets. We are always examining, planning, and designing new systems and tests under the responsibility of engineers and qualified technicians in the mechanics and plastics sector.

We have been awarded ISO 9001 certification for the quality of our work, and this is not only a milestone for us but also a guarantee of the work we do. Certificate N°. 1789/4.

All our technical and business staff can speak and write in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese.

Our ongoing investments in manufacturing and design have allowed us at Thermoplay to guarantee a very fast turn-around in meeting orders, and to deliver standard systems by no later than five days after they were placed. We can deliver special systems by no later than thirty days after receiving an order.
