Azienda Agricola ClosBlanc di Blanc Alberto

The ClosBlanc farm is located in the municipality of Jovençan, 5km from Aosta and is at around 600 metres above sea level. The firm was created in 2009, with a production of around 11,000 bottles (the grapes had previously been sold to other producers). The vines are divided between the municipalities of Jovençan and Aymavilles, and currently produce around 25,000 bottles.

The firm produces both red and white wines (some of the reds are native Aostan wines).
Amongst the native (red) wines produced (the vines were grown in the Aosta Valley and cannot be found elsewhere) are the Vda Cornalin DOP, the VdA Fumin DOP and the VdA Petit Rouge DOP. Other reds produced are the VdA Merlot DOP and the Vda Pinot Noir DOP (these are not native types. The climate, the terrain and the altitude give these wines a colour, flavour and a characteristic bouquet which sets them aside from what is produced at lower altitudes).
VdA Muller Thurgau DOP and VdA Chardonnay DOP are amongst the white wines produced.
Since 2013 the company has also produced “Réflì” sparkling wine, with white grapes, and the red table wine “La toûpie”.

The grapes all come from Aostan vines and come almost entirely from the farm itself (just a small amount of white grapes are bought from a local producer). The production process is undertaken in its entirety by the company as far as DOP wines and red table wine are concerned, while the sparkling wine is produced outside the Valley.

The farm owner is part of the Aostan “Viticulteurs Encaveurs” association and has taken part in a number of events promoted by the Chambre Valdotaine and by Eataly. He also got some good results for the wines he presented at the “Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition”.

The Clos Blanc farm has a large car park (which can also be used by coaches) and there is a tasting room where clients can sample the wines. There is also an overnight service for those who want to stay.
