It was in 1886 that, on the slopes of Mont Blanc, at Morgex in the Aosta Valley, Giuseppe Artari came up with the idea that would become his life. He created a coffee workshop and opened the Bottega dei Sapori (Atelier of Tastes) convinced that the splendour of the mountains, which had been immortalised by his famous painter ancestors, would – over time – transform this small Alpine area into an exclusive destination for international tourism.

And Giuseppe Artari wasn’t wrong. Over a hundred years later, the Antica Bottega dei Sapori continues to move forward with its land, listening to its voices and taking part in its great changes, with the passion and creativity of its beginnings still intact. This desire and dedication, which were proudly inherited by Edoardo and Alfredo, who led the company in the years that followed, are still today the guiding light and the secret of its success.

With his jealously guarded ancient recipes, Artari always made quality a top priority so as to rediscover unique aromas and flavours which lead to the unmistakeable Italian taste of coffee.

A small-scale production for a discerning clientele, able to fully appreciate the complex components needed to create a great coffee:

• careful selection of the most prized varieties;
• special care and artistry in combining the mixes to harmonise different aromas and tastes;
• traditional slow toasting to bring out the best qualities.

But Caffè Artari is not just coffee, a range of hand-made products bring out the mixtures even more – like the Artari Cafe Liqueur, which has a soft and strong taste, or Chicchi e i Frutti (Grains and Fruit), delicious chocolates dipped in coffee or with fruits of the forest.
