Les Amis du Bois, founded in 1974, is a small artisanal company which produces and sales typical crafts from the Aosta Valley, household objects, sculptures and artistic objects.
The pieces are handcrafted following local tradition using a lathe, sculpted by hand and handed down for generations (friendship cups, “grolle” - traditional local cups with a number of spouts).
Production is mainly focussed on producing friendship cups and “grolle”, two items which symbolise traditional craftsmanship from the Aosta Valley, but also includes dishes, mortars, vases, bowls, cutting bowls, low reliefs and any sort of sculpted object provided it is made of wood.
Every year the company exhibits at the “Foire the Saint Ours”, the Aosta fair which is famous for the traditionalism and originality of the crafted wares on display.
