Verte Alpine: this is the name given to a type of stone which undergoes structural and metamorphic changes. It is greenish-grey in colour, and some examples tend towards dark blue in certain parts of the Alps. Its characteristics remain constant, and it is an ideal building material here in the Alps where it is used for external facing and its colour gives a particular architectural look to dwellings which are always in contact with nature.
