Azienda agricola Ambiente Grumei

Founded in 1990 Ambiente Grumei is the first Aostan company to obtain organic certification (from 1992).

The company only sells its own production, and does not buy any raw materials externally (except for sugar, oil and glass jars) and has always been proud of being in control of its entire production chain, from farming production to vinification and sales.

Ambiente Grumei is a teaching farm, and organises nature excursions throughout the Aosta Valley – including a walk to discover medicinal herbs. The farm owner is a guide at the Gran Paradiso National Park.

The company is self sufficient in energy since it produces the energy that it consumes with solar panels or wood from its property.

• Organic jams (fruits of the forest and old varieties of apricots, apples, pears, plums, peaches, rhubarb, cherries, strawberries)

• Quince jelly
• Lavender and other medicinal herbs

The company sells to the European market through “Manufactum” (Germany) and is involved in social farming through its work with several associations so as to host disabled people.

Ambiente Grumei has also activated synergies and integrated programmes with the Apiculture Museum and the Bee Consortium of the Aosta Valley.
